Studium przypadku milickiej rezydencji ukazuje synergiczne połączenie dziedzictwa i nowoczesnych potrzeb kształcenia leśników.

FOREST EDUCATION WITHIN THE PALACE INTERIORS OF THE MALTZAN FAMILY RESIDENCE IN MILICZ

Summary

The article analyzes the use of the historic palace of the von Maltzan family in Milicz as a contemporary space for forest education. Since 1963, this Classicist residence (1790–1798), surrounded by a historic English-style landscape park of nearly 50 hectares, has housed the Forestry Technical School. Within the palace-and-park complex, particular attention is drawn to the enfilade layout, the representative ballroom, and the surviving relics of the original furnishings, as well as the functional transformations of the building after the Second World War. Both the architecture and the park form a space in which teaching in the field of vocational forestry education is carried out, alongside cultural education (concerts, exhibitions, and outreach events). The historic setting contributes to shaping aesthetic sensitivity and an ethos of service to nature, while also posing conservation and organizational challenges connected with the use of a heritage building. The case study of the Milicz residence demonstrates the synergistic combination of heritage and the contemporary needs of forester education.
